Begin with A'kis

Jessica "J.R." Chester (she/her) formed Begin With A'kis, LLC to support birthing people and their partners throughout preconception, pregnancy, labor, birth, and early postpartum.  J.R. is a birth doula, trained and certified through DONA International, a Certified Lactation Counselor, a Texas certified Community Health Worker and Instructor, and a Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST). Her background is in sexual and reproductive health.

J.R. has five children, Ana, Ava, Kameron, Ivory, and Skylar (A.K.I.S.). Her own  individual birth experiences and her passion for maternal health lead J.R. to receive her calling as a birth professional. J.R. is committed to the belief that everyone has a right to informed decision making and personal autonomy in healthcare, and she works with her clients  to empower themselves through comprehensive and medically accurate education.
